Choreography for the Harold Washington Library

2016

A piece of choreography that is meant to be experienced, not watched. It is documented through a map and set of directions that takes participants on a path through the nine-story Harold Washington Library, a public library in downtown Chicago. The performance encourages participants to think critically about the way their body is directed by the architecture, and how this reflects cultural values about the organization of knowledge.
